While it’s not as straightforward as working with vector graphics in Illustrator, there are a few tips and tricks you can employ to make the process a bit easier.įirst and foremost, you’ll want to make sure you have the latest version of Illustrator installed. If you don’t, you’ll likely run into some issues when working with SVG. Once you’ve installed Illustrator, you’ll need to make sure you have the SVG plugin installed. You can find the plugin on the Illustrator website, or you can install it via the plugin manager in the program. Once you have the plugin installed, you’ll need to open up a new document and make sure the SVG format is enabled. To do this, select File > Preferences > General and make sure the Formatting options are set to SVG. Next, you’ll want to make sure you have the correct tools installed in Illustrator in order to work with SVG. In order to work with vector graphics, you’ll need the Illustrator Pen and Inkscape. If you don’t have Inkscape, you can download a free version from the Inkscape website. ![]() Once you have the tools installed, you’ll need to import your SVG file into Illustrator. To do this, open up your SVG file in Inkscape and copy the path to the file in Inkscape. ![]() Then, open up Illustrator and paste the path into the Illustrator document. ![]() Now, you’ll want to start working with the file.
